Amazon UK BSR Sales Calculator
Pick a category, drop in a Best Seller Rank, get an estimated daily and monthly sales figure with a realistic confidence band. UK marketplace, all 30+ top-level categories.
Estimate based on UK category power-curve fit. Real-world variance ±50% per ASIN. Use for relative comparisons; pair with offer count, review velocity, and price stability for sourcing decisions.
How the estimate is calculated
We use a power-curve fit per category: salesPerDay = a × BSR^(−b). Each UK category has its own a (estimated daily sales at BSR 1) and b (decay exponent). Beauty has a high a; Industrial & Scientific has a low one — same BSR, very different sales.
Real-world variance for any single ASIN is typically ±50% because BSR jumps around with daily sales spikes, promotions, and category cycles. That's why we show a low–high range, not a single number.
Use the estimate for relative comparisons — "BSR 5,000 vs BSR 50,000 in this category" — rather than treating it as a precise forecast. For sourcing decisions you'd want pair it with the listing's review velocity, offer count, and price stability (which is what our paid Inner Circle catalogue scanner does in bulk).
Frequently asked questions
How accurate is the BSR sales estimate?
It's a category-calibrated estimate — typical real-world variance is ±50% for any single ASIN, which is why we show a low–high band rather than a single number. Amazon doesn't publish official BSR-to-sales data, so every BSR sales estimator on the market (including Jungle Scout, Helium 10, AMZScout, SellerAmp) is producing an estimate. We use power-curve fits per UK category, calibrated from publicly-known marketplace approximations. Use the estimate for relative comparisons (is BSR 5,000 better than BSR 50,000?) rather than treating it as a precise forecast.
Why does the same BSR mean different sales in different categories?
Because category sizes differ massively. Beauty UK has hundreds of millions of pounds in monthly GMV — being #1000 still means 15-20 sales/day. Industrial & Scientific has a fraction of that volume — being #1000 might mean only 3-5 sales/day. Always pair BSR with category when assessing a product.
Where do I find a product's BSR on Amazon UK?
Scroll to the "Product information" or "Additional information" section on any Amazon UK product listing. Look for "Best Sellers Rank" — it usually shows two numbers: the top-level rank (e.g. #2,341 in Beauty) and a sub-category rank (e.g. #45 in Lip Gloss). Use the TOP-LEVEL rank for this calculator.
What does the traffic-light viability indicator mean?
🟢 Strong = 60+ sales/month estimated — solid mover. 🟡 Moderate = 15–60 sales/month — viable for most FBA sellers. 🟠 Slow = 5–15 sales/month — only profitable at high margin. 🔴 Very slow = under 5 sales/month — usually skip unless you have a specific reason.
How does this compare to Jungle Scout / Helium 10 / SellerAmp?
Those tools have more data (they observe rank drops on millions of ASINs daily, often via opted-in seller data and proprietary scrapers) so their estimates are more granular. They also charge £20–£100/month. Our calculator is free, transparent (we publish the formula and category coefficients), and good enough for ballpark sourcing decisions. For precision sourcing, pair it with Keepa or a paid estimator. We're working on Inner Circle member-submitted data to refine our curves over time — eventually we want to be the most accurate UK-specific calculator available.
