How accurate are the FBA fees in this calculator?
The referral fee and FBA fulfilment fee are pulled directly from Amazon's Selling Partner API (SP-API) using the getMyFeesEstimate endpoint — same data Amazon uses internally. They're as accurate as Amazon's own estimate. The calculator excludes variable costs like prep fees, inbound shipping, storage fees, and returns, which depend on your specific situation.
What does "VAT-registered" vs "not VAT-registered" mean?
UK businesses with annual turnover over £90,000 must register for VAT. VAT-registered sellers charge VAT on Amazon sales (then remit to HMRC) and reclaim VAT on supplier purchases. Non-VAT-registered sellers keep the full sell price but cannot reclaim VAT on purchases. The calculator shows both scenarios so you can see exactly how VAT registration affects your bottom line.
